Plugin Now Available For Download…

by Contextual Partnership on June 29, 2009

After a few minor setbacks we’re pleased to announce that the “Contextual Partnership” Plugin (BETA VERSION) is now available for download. This release contains the core features of the plugin. It will allow you to submit your blog for moderation, define the keyword terms and URL’s you’d like to target for your advertising, and also contains various other settings related to your blogs interaction within the network in general.

NOTE: Please do not expect to start receiving (or giving) links over the next few days / potentially a few weeks. We’re only releasing this to a few hundred bloggers to load test & balance our servers. As a result its possible that whatever keyword terms you wish to target aren’t actually going to exist in the network whilst it’s in its infancy - therefore placement will be slightly delayed.

However, please do install the plugin to as many blogs as you like. The actual plugin is auto-updating, so when we release the final version you won’t need to come back and manually update the plugin. It will do it itself which is nice. And the more blogs we have for initial testing the faster things can progress.

You can download the plugin here.

You simply need to unzip it and upload the entire folder (which will be named with a random string of 15 characters) to your plugins folder of your WordPress installation.

Once you activate the plugin and find the admin section for it on your menu items, things should be pretty self explanatory, but if not you’ll find full (draft) documentation here.

Last but not least, be sure to check out the “Moderation Quality Control Guidelines” feature inside the plugin when you define your settings. We would like as much feedback as possible about the current guidelines as these will be critical to the success and quality of the network as a whole. At the moment we have left these quite broad and would appreciate any input as to your thoughts on these.

Please also be sure to read through the entire documentation (and FAQ’s) section we’ve created if you have any questions or concerns (before emailing us). It should explain things in more detail and answer most basic questions.

We are aiming to release the final plugin next week and expect to have approximately 10,000 bloggers on the network within the first 30 days. So whilst things might start off slowly over the next few weeks, you’ll see things picking up pretty quickly not long thereafter.

We’ll also send out regular updates during this time to keep you informed.

Thanks,

PS: Be sure to define the actual URL’s and Keyword Terms you’d like to advertise once you activate the plugin. This is a real world BETA release so as soon as a partner match is found for you on the network you will start to see incoming links being placed.

Hey Guys,

Still reading but this could be a fantastic solution to a lot of problems linking. I’m not thinking it is a total solution, of course I am a little bias we have been working on a manual system for about a year now. You know content is king! and fresh content is going to be even more important real soon.

The “Contextual Partnership” could pan out to be something, I see a PR of 4 on the domain here with 56 thousand links. Can you give us a little history on the site to see the big picture?

Going to give it a shot and see what she can do.

Thanks

Hi Brad,

“Can you give us a little history on the site to see the big picture?”

The PR value of the ContextualPartnership.com domain is irrelevant to the network itself. No partner participating ever links back to this domain so “56 thousand links” are not linking back here if that’s what you mean.

Regardless that figure was the amount of pages in the network spread across all domains participating (not individual links), and is an old statistic which we’ve now surpassed by quite a bit. As I write this over 13k individual links have been strategically distributed amongst partners websites.

Hope this helps.
